Challenge
In migration counselling, staff members often work with clients who do not speak German. Since many of them are newly arrived, content must be explained from the very beginning — from administrative procedures to personal concerns. Without professional language mediation, clear and structured counselling would hardly be possible.
Solution
SAVD supports migration counselling with over‑the‑phone interpreting and video remote interpreting, with video remote interpreting being preferred due to the visual support it provides. The services are used, for example, during intake interviews, appointment coordination, conversations with authorities, when filling out forms and during initial assessments. This ensures clear communication and creates a reliable foundation for further counselling.
