Challenge
To develop suitable solutions, clients need to be able to clearly and fully describe their personal situation. Without reliable communication, this is hardly possible — important details often remain unclear or get lost.
Solution
During initial consultations, over‑the‑phone interpreting ensures clear and precise communication. The service is not only aimed at people without German skills, but also at clients with German skills at the B1 or B2 level. This ensures that information is understood correctly.
In addition, over‑the‑phone interpreting can also be used to support tasks such as preparing CVs or other written documents.
“The Diakonie Teltow‑Fläming e.V. has been using the SAVD interpreting service since 2023 in various counselling settings. We particularly appreciate the high reliability — both for directly accessible languages and for scheduled interpreter requests. The wide range of languages, the excellently trained interpreters, and the easy handling make the service a real asset in our day‑to‑day counselling work — for us as well as for our clients.”
“I am very grateful for this service — it is a valuable support in our counselling work. Scheduling appointments runs smoothly, and the interpreters are available at the agreed time. A wide range of languages is offered.”
“For me, interpreting made a noticeable difference when I was working with a family from Afghanistan. The family spoke neither German nor English, and they were unable to clearly communicate their concern through gestures. In this situation, the interpreting service was extremely helpful. The interpreter spoke with sensitivity and patience to the family and was able to translate their concern for me. Together, and with the interpreter’s support, we were able to solve the family’s problem.”
